10.7. Removal, check of a state and installation of screw springs and rack-mount assemblies of a forward suspension bracket

Before removal of components check a condition of shock-absorbers and screw springs on the car standing on the earth. Serially press on each of car corners — serviceable shock-absorbers provide return of a corner at an otpuskaniye for one muscleman a body. For assessment of a condition of screw springs several times rock the car for shrinkage of components, then check height of landing of a body (nominal rates — see the illustration Assessment of a Condition of Screw Springs) — the sunk springs are not subject to recovery repair and have to be replaced.

  1. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props (see the illustration Scheme of an Institution of Props for fixing of the car in the lifted situation). Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
  2. Disconnect a bar of the stabilizer of cross stability from a rack.
  3. Prop up I will lower the cross lever of a suspension bracket.
  1. Mark the provision of a rack of rather rotary fist, then give fixing nuts and bolts of the lower support of rack-mount assembly.
  2. Release nuts of fastening of the top support of a rack to a car body — do not turn off a nut of fastening of a rod of the shock-absorber.
  1. Remove assembly of a rack with a screw spring from the car, transfer it to a workbench and clamp in a vice with soft sponges.
  1. Slightly weaken a shock-absorber rod nut, then squeeze a screw spring by means of the special tool and finally turn off a nut.
  1. The final otdavaniye of a nut of a rod of the shock-absorber is made after compression of a screw spring.
  1. Remove a screw spring from rack-mount assembly.



  1. Estimate smoothness of the courses of compression and stretching are resistant.
  1. Examine assembly on existence of signs of development of leaks.
  1. Make sure of absence on the piston of cracks, deformations and other mechanical damages.
  2. The faulty rack is subject to replacement.



  1. Put on rack-mount assembly a screw spring (a flat end face up) and make sure of hit of the lower end face of its bar in reciprocal deepening in a saddle.
  1. Track that the top saddle of a spring was developed by an U-shaped cut to DP of the car and on one line with points of fastening are resistant to a rotary fist.
  1. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Track that all fixture was tightened with the required effort.
